3D images/3D photos are images/photos, which contain a 3D (3-dimensional) information about objects on the image. Observer then can see these objects as real ones - spatially - in 3D. The objects aren't flat - and aren't on one surface - but are spatial and placed in the space (they can even go out of the image - for example out of a PC monitor).

To get a spatial (3D, stereo) effect it is necessary for the observer to see different images with different eyes (his left eye has to see the scene from the left, the right one from the right). For this it is necessary to use a special projection system or a 3D glasses.

The 3D effect can be created by a few different methods, very popular is the anaglyph technology. Most of 3D Journal pages is dedicated to this technology. 3D photos - anaglyphs - can be found in these 3DJournal galleries and on pages linked on this link page.
